No, I’m not talking about the twins. I’m talking about me! After doing many responsible adult~type things with our tax return, I went to Home Depot and had a bit of a shopping spree. Power tools!! My daddy always taught me the importance of having the right tool for the job. Well, I had designed a great portable bed for Pennsic (our big Medieval vacation in August) but I didn’t have the right tools. Glad I have Thor now. No way all these goodies would have fit in the old car.
The big box is hand-me-downs for the girls, but the rest is from my shopping spree. Now my car smells like a wood shop. It makes me happy.
So this morning I got a~building. Here is part of the tool set I bought. It came in this lovely never~loose~me~lime~green bag. Inside you see the reciprocating saw, and the flashlight. Also some bits for the router I bought, but forgot to photograph. It also came in a bag.
Here are the circular saw and drill from the tool set. And of course an orbital sander. I forgot to get extra sandpaper pads, I guess I’ll have to go back to Home Depot tomorrow. Aw, shucks. Oh, and a new hammer, because you can never have enough hammers; and let’s not forget that nifty little pocket hole jig. That little guy is my new best friend!
So the stuff in tool box insert was already mine. I just wanted to get a shot of some of my new clamps. Aren’t they pretty? I wish they came in pink.
A bit of wood taking a lean against the wall.
I’d rather a table of wood to a gourmet meal any day!
Here’s a shot of the head board in construction. Still a bit more work to be done.
Headboard again. If you double click this snap it will get bigger. I carved Doug’s device (coat~of~arms) on the headboard. I wanted it to look like it could have been hand carved with chisels, but I actually used a Dremel, ‘cuz it’s quicker!
I’ll post more snaps when it is done.
I love you Dad!
