Designed by Jessie Rayot

This spiraling color cowl makes a great addition to your winter wardrobe. The Green Gradient Cowl is worked with all 5 colors at once in a spiral. Stitch markers are used to help you keep track of where to start and stop each color. Once you get the hang of it, it really moves along, but you do need to follow the pattern carefully to be sure you are on the right path. There are no seams/jumps in the color pattern because of the way it is made, so you end up with a very professional looking finished creation!

Are there any pics of the work in progress for the first few rows because I can’t make heads or tails of the written pattern.

Sorry, there are not. It is spiral crochet, so you are working all the colors at once.

At what point do you join or is it worked in a rectangle? I get that you work each color on top of each other, but when you get to row E, you then bring up Color A? Its not clear.

You start out with a ch 20 in color A, then you join color B and chain 21 then work into the chains from color A, you continue like this all the way around, and when you finish Color E, you pick up color A and work into the color E chains, this joins the round.

Also, color A you work 20 stitches but B you indicate 21 stitches and then C/D/E are all indicated as 20 stitches…is “21” for B an error?

If I remember correctly, that was needed to get the stitches to line up correctly.
