I finished my free found objects craft this morning. First, and most importantly, I found a lid for my coffee. No drinking sawdust for me!
Then I took those little square pegs and drilled some holes in them. Angled holes at the angled end, and straight in at the flat end.
Next I found some screws that were about 3/4 inches longer then the golf balls.
Then I screwed the golf balls onto the ends of the pegs. Yeah!
Onto the posts they go. Are you getting the idea now? It’s done.
Finally, a place for the girls to hang their coats that they can actually reach, and that won’t poke through their knit coats.
I also took the piece that was left from the 1×8 (maybe it was a 1×10 to begin with…) and attached the shorter pegs with golf balls onto that for ponchos and cardigans.
Organized happiness!!
I also finally got around to putting the old rainbow shelves up in the girls’ play room (AKA the front porch.) Really, they are level, I used a level to hang them, it’s just the photo that makes them look a little wonkie.
Now I just need to organize the playroom so everything has a place, and get the girls to keep it that way. I know, wishful thinking.

That’s one of the goals I want to have with Kenny – to have all of his toys have a place and if he gets something new and it doesn’t fit, something old needs to go. Of course, I don’t even have enough space for all the stuff he has now until we move!
The kid-sized coat racks are very clever, and I like the bright, cheerful shelves. The angle of the photo makes them look like a Dr. Seuss book to me. 🙂
