New Laptop

Well, the old one is dead. It had a good run. About 6 years. That’s pretty darn good, if you ask me. Half the letters on the keyboard were worn off. It was very funny when someone with not~so~good typing skills borrowed it!
Anyway, I got a Lenovo v570. It’s pretty. And fast. And not cluttered with 6 years of junk. And fast. I’ll take some pictures tomorrow.

Tomorrow is going to be all about setting up the laptop with the additional programs I need. Such as Quicken, and PrimoPDF (free program the will transfer my patterns in word into PDF files.) I already added on Picasa so I could get some photos into this post.

Tomorrow evening I should get my Passport (the computer back up do~hickey, not the travel to other countries do~hickey…hey, how do you spell do~hickey?) back. Worst case scenario is that my awesome IT friend was unable to recover anything from the old laptop, and I am out only a couple weeks worth of info, as I had backed~up everything on the passport a couple of weeks ago. Anyway, that means Thursday (and Friday, and maybe most of the weekend) is going to be all about picking and choosing what I want to transfer from the passport onto the new laptop, and what is just junk. Then I need to find out if there is a way to wipe the passport so I can back up this laptop with just what I want on it, and not have all the extraneous nonsense from the old one.

Anyway, now that I have put most of you to sleep, here are a few snaps of what I have been up to when I was disconnected from the cyber world.

Here’s hoping this crazy, everything~goes~wrong week~and~a~half is at an end and things start to go right again soon.

Talk to you later!
