These beaded purse tassels will bring a little accent to your bag. They are easy to attach, so you can make them to match your outfit, or to match your bag. The beads add a little extra bling! You can even make the cord longer and make a necklace with these tassels. Have some fun with them.
any – Berroco Indigo used in the sample
Whatever size goes with your yarn
beads – Bead Biz beads used in sample
Stitches and Abbreviations:
ch – chain
st(s) – stitch(es)
Leaving a 6″ tail at both ends, chain a cord to your desired length. The sample is 9 inches.
Wrap yarn around a firm object about 3-4″ wide (such as a cell phone) 20 times and cut along one side to make tassel strings. Repeat for 2nd tassel.
Use the tails from the cord to tie the center of the tassels to the ends of the cords.
Using the quilting thread and needle, sew around the tassel about 1/2″ below the tie to make the band around the tassel. Tie off but do not cut thread.
Add beads to thread and wrap around band 2 times. Tie off and cut thread
Use or give and enjoy!
