Quilling? The art quilling, rolled strips of paper shaped and glued together to make a decorative design. Alright I I’ll bit & thanks to 3 Bird Studio and their Quilling For All Occasions Kit I did it! If you can imagine it you can do it and I needed to make a couple of wedding cards, so that’s what I made
The product reviewed in this post was provided by 3 Birds Studio.
Upon opening my kit and looking at everything it contained, I was quite impressed. It included: Quilling strips, a quilling tool, a quilling gauge to make specific size circles, a stack of cards with windows and envelopes, a stack of card stock punch-out designs for many occasions, and a great booklet on how to use everything. The only supplies I had to provide myself were a pair of scissors and some white glue.
The booklet is full of instructions on how to make different shapes, and how to turn those shapes into different designs. In the back of the booklet there are samples of several cards that can be made with the kit. I thought about what I wanted to try, and decided to go with 2 wedding cards as I have need for those this summer.
For the first card I took inspiration from the sample in the booklet, but did not copy it exactly. I used it as a way to learn how to make a few styles of flowers. I found it to be pretty easy, especially with the use of the circle gauge. It was so fun to make the flowers and decide how I wanted the petals to look!
For the second card I pretty much made it just like the sample in the booklet. It was easy to follow the directions and create it just as I wanted. I was quite impressed with the instructions provided for everything I made. I looked at the other designs that were included in the kit and I’m sure I will be going back to this kit many times to make cards and who knows what else with the awesome tools and instructions. I still have quilling strips, but I have a feeling I will be buying more because this is just too fun!
I would highly recommend this kit for the crafter looking to learn how to quill, or even for a quiller who wants to learn a few more skills and would like to make some cards. You can find this kit at the 3 Birds Studio website, HERE.
