I came up with this fun necklace, inspired by the fashion trends for spring. I think they will do very well at the street fairs! I just finished a tutorial post for you!! I have also been making more videos. I added one, and I have several more … Read more

Chain Necklace – free crochet pattern

About a week ago I was looking through the fashion trends for spring and noticed a lot of “statement” necklaces. Several of them were the type with a large chain around the top half, and then several small chains around the bottom half. They inspired me to create this uber~fun crochet necklace!

Simple Rainbow Bracelet

I have a fun and simple pattern for you today! It is a striped bracelet with tied ends. I make many of these bracelets in a rainbow to sell at InsaniTea. They are a best seller of mine! I use Tahki Cotton Classic yarn to make these fun bracelets; though you can use another yarn of your choice with the corresponding hook size, you just may need to adjust the beginning chain number.

Not quite what I wanted, but it will work

I started writing a wrap pattern at the beginning of October. It was beautiful in my head. Somewhere in the initial planning/math stages, something went awry. I think I tried to do too much. The pretty little picture was much more simple then what happened as I started writing.

Octie-is-finally-done

O frabjous day!

Callooh! Callay!

It truly is a frabjous day, I have finally finished the octagon blanket!

Octie-is-finally-done

I first told you about this crazy guy over a year ago. When I started him, there were so many other things I was working on, that he kind of ended up on the back burner. Life took hold and he spent most of the last year yearning for my attention. If you remember, the hexagon blanket was for Vada, and the octagon is Kyla’s. She was very happy to finally have her “banket” done.

Grammy-and-Cara

Can’t sleep

So let me tell you a story. A while back there was this incredibly talented woman named Vada. She was an artist of every sort. Her main creations were jewelry, but she was amazing at everything. In her youth she even danced with Martha Graham. She was quite beautiful, too. She met a wonderful man named Alexander, and they married. They had a son, Christopher, but when his son was only 2 weeks old, Alex was killed by a drunk driver. Eventually, Vada married again, and had two more sons. She had always wanted a little girl, but it wasn’t in the cards for her. Unfortunately, this marriage did not last. Even worse, her youngest son was also killed by a drunk driver when he was just a teenager. Through all of this Vada keep creating her art. I imagine it is what kept her going. Eventually her sons grew up and moved away.
