So much to do! I made a list of everything I want to have done by the end of Doug’s Spring Break ~ which is the first week of April. I have a lot to do.
But first things first ~ this is what happens when I leave the girls home alone with Daddy…
That would be a chocolate covered peanut butter bar in her hand.
Back to what I need to have done in the next month.
I have a Medieval dress I am making for a commission. It has been on hold because I was waiting for our tax return to buy a new serger. It is so much faster, easier, and nicer to finish the fabric edges with a serger then with a machine zig-zag, fold over, or other regular machine methods. I prefer not to use French or Flat-Feld seams for Medieval garments because I don’t like for the machine stitching to be visible from the outside. I will snap away as I go with this dress so you all can watch along!
Of course there is still Doug’s Gambeson to be finished. I might do a bit more with that today.
I also have a blacksmith type apron I need to put together ~ in tester fabric, the real fabric is $16 a yard ~ and send out to the couple who is thinking about ordering a few.
Then there is also all the boring paperwork type stuff. I got a good bit of that done on Monday and Tuesday, so I can play with my yarn and fabric.
Speaking of yarn…
The octagon blanket has 3 of 8 rows done. At least I am estimating 8. We’ll see how it looks at that point next to it’s counterpart, the hexagon blanket. I still need to make that octagon tutorial for all of you, too.
I finished the second stripy hat!
My friend Donna saw the snaps of the first hat and wanted one for herself. So I am attempting a knitted one to bring to her this weekend. Then I still have to make one for me, too!

Aww…thanks Louise. I’ll have to post a pattern for the knit and crochet versions. It just may be a while!
