What a fabulous weekend!! I spent all day Sunday at the Rhinebeck Sheep and Wool Festival. I’ll tell you about that in a moment, but first I want to share a photo from Saturday.
Doug’s birthday was on Thursday, but the girls only got to see him for an hour. They wanted to really celebrate his birthday, so we had a Daddy’s Birthday Day on Saturday. We went out for frozen yogurt, to a movie, then out to dinner. The girls love those coloring mats at the restaurants!
Sunday morning I got up bright and early and drove into the City to pick up my friend Claire (we’re both admins for the Knitting Facebook group) and 2 of her friends. It was the first time I have met Claire in person, and she was as fabulous as I thought she would be! Then it was a nearly 2 hour drive up to Rhinebeck.
Well, after  lots of work, and lots of fun, I have finished the additions to the Fall Leaves Wrap pattern. It now has even more process photos, a chart for the leaves, and a 2 color leaf option, where the leaves are one color on one side of the vein, and another color on the other side of the vain. For 2 days the gym was full of books and kids, it was fun. Â I had this little beginning of a granny~something~or~other laying about, and … Read more
I started writing a wrap pattern at the beginning of October. It was beautiful in my head. Somewhere in the initial planning/math stages, something went awry. I think I tried to do too much. The pretty little picture was much more simple then what happened as I started writing.
So, in the end, I had something much more
Well, Sandy is past and we are quite lucky. We only lost power for about 19 hours from Monday evening to Tuesday afternoon. The girls are off from school all week, Doug has been out from both jobs through today, and he will be off at least one of them tomorrow. Halloween has been postponed until Monday.
We heard a few thumps during the storm. Doug ran out to rescue this piece of siding that came down.
Just a quick note to let you know I have not forgotten you all.
I thought I would share a few Easter pictures to brighten things up.
So here we have it, about a month late, the first post of our Pennsic 39 vacation. I was still working on bits and pieces of projects to the very last minute. Here we have the girls giving me a hand getting the floor pieces ready the day before we left.
They take after their Grandpa, little carpenters!
